With
its uniquely mild, virtually frost-free, almost sub-tropical climate
Cornwall's great gardens come into their own in spring-time. Camellias
starting in November are followed by magnolias whilst rhododendrons
reach their peak in April and May. Increasingly many gardens are now
diversifying with summer flowers shrubs and plants.
|
With the renaissance of interest in gardens
of the last few years, now is a particularly opportune time to visit Cornwall
as several of its gardens have been 'rediscovered' and 'renovated' such
as the world famous Lost Gardens of Heligan or the less well known Tregrehan.
Also the Eden Project with its two gigantic geodesic conservatories -
the largest in the world - housing an unrivalled collection of tropical
and Mediterranean plants and trees is attracting world-wide interest.
Different again are the host of the other gardens such as restored Georgian rectory
gardens, wonderful cliff-side gardens exposed to the sea or gardens following
deep ravines to a hidden cove on an estuary.

Lost Gardens of Heligan

We would like to show you a selection
of different Cornish gardens at their best within a six night, five day
holiday combining this with afternoon strolls.
We visit two gardens a day, the majority being famous ' great gardens' but in
addition some of the more intimate, smaller, private and less well known gardens.
Where possible we will arrange for the owner or head gardener to meet or accompany
us.
